Writers are often asked how they find their stories?
For me it’s the wrong question. The stores find me and don’t let go, insisting to be written. The experience is visceral, and you know you’ve caught lightning in a bottle.
Here’s the latest example.
My wife and I were on our way to a restaurant in Boston’s North End when I saw her. Young, homeless, and eyes shining with madness. But what set her apart was the wedding dress she was wearing. Once it was the color of ivory, but now it was matted with grime. Large swaths of its tulle and lace hung in shreds. And I couldn’t get her out of my mind. Who was she? Why a wedding dress? What was her story?
Over the next few weeks she told me, and it became the new Jackson Steeg Mystery, BLACK ANGEL, available as an e-book on Amazon soon.
